The INSTITUTION OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS
ABOUT
IEE has played a important role in the careers of engineering professionals across the world since 1871. Today there are more than 140,000 men and women gaining support and recognition from what is now the largest professional engineering society in Europe, and a major organisation across the globe.
Operating as a not-for-profit organisation and managed by a Board of Trustees, the institution receives input from Branches across the world. Our vision is world class and this is reflected by what we do.

BENEVOLENT FUND
The Benevolent Fund has been in existence for over one hundred years. It assists both past and present needy members, with a minimum of five consecutive year's membership.
Assistance is mainly financial and each year over 1000 grants are distributed to beneficiaries. Regular and one off grants are made for a variety of purposes. The fund is reliant on a network of dedicated voluntary Local Representatives. Great emphasis is placed on welfare. The support and advice they, and members of staff, provide forms an important part of the Fund's service.
